Kilkenny Bar & Guesthouse
Our review of the Kilkenny Bar & Guesthouse in Pattaya. An Irish Bar with a party atmosphere. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner while the bar is open late night with happy hour from 4 -10pm nightly.
The Kilkenny Bar is open air, having two sides with rollup walls giving it a wide open feeling. It occupies quite a large space which is filled with a variety of seating including booths, high top tables, seats at the bar, and stools that let you overlook the life happening in the street. They also reclaimed a bit of motorbike parking on the street to make room for a few outside tables.
There is no air conditioning but you will find plenty of ceiling fans inside the bar area. If you are a sports fan, there are several TVs on each of the walls which are usually playing a football match from somewhere. The Kilkenny also has a very nice pool table in the bar. It is free to play and they also host a competition pool league.
Being on Soi LK this Irish bar can get really hopping in the evening. Drinks are reasonably price and they have a very nice female bar staff. The live music performances are often very good.
Food here is top notch. I love the Kilkenny big breakfast. It comes with 2 Sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, baked beans, fresh grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, black pudding Or hash-browns. I like the hash-browns myself. And they serve a big cup of coffee which is great. All this for 120 THB. It is one of the best breakfasts in Pattaya.
The Kilkenny also serves a wide variety of pub grub, from burgers and sandwiches to steaks. They also have a Thai menu if you bring a local companion.
The Kilkenny Guest House
While I’ve never stayed here personally I can say the rooms look basic but nice and about what you would expect from a nice guest house. Large clean rooms, TVs, large double bed, A/C, television & DVD, Wifi, and in room safe’s. Their balconies overlook Soi LK metro, so I do wonder how noisy the rooms are. But if you are staying there, you are most likely there to party and have a good time and this probably won’t be a big concern. For a price range of 600 -800 THB a night, the Kilkenny Bar & Guesthouse looks pretty good to me.
