The Kitchen Pattaya Restaurant (Review)
The Kitchen restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat in Pattaya. The food is delicious and they have a great selection of Western and Thai dishes to choose from. It is not the cheapest option out there, but for a great meal the Kitchen Pattaya is one I would highly recommend.
The Kitchen are a chain of restaurants located in Pattaya, Ko Samui, and Phuket. The have two venues in Pattaya, one on Beach Road and another on Second Road just past Soi 10. I’ve only eaten at the latter of the two and the one I’ll be reviewing here.
The location is a nice open air restaurant with the front exposed to Second Road. It is a large establishment with plenty of table seating and a small lounge style area. The décor is modern and well done. The place is clean and looks top notch.
The menu is spectacular, with a wide selection of dishes to choose from. They have an assortment of appetizers, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches, pasta, fish, steak, and of course a selection of Thai Cuisine. Every dish looked delicious.
Service
The waitress was at my table quickly taking my drink order. The place was very busy, but my San Miguel light and bottle water came out quickly. I decided to go with the garlic bread appetizer and the Spaghetti Bolognese.
It took a little while before my appetizer came out and the waitress apologized that they were very busy and there was a delay in the kitchen. Not a problem, I sipped my beer and ate my garlic bread, which was enough for two people.
Unfortunately that is where the good news ended. The kitchen was very backed up and it took ages for my food to arrive. The waitress was good about coming to my table and apologizing and asking if she could get me anything more to drink.
Food
My food finally arrived and I must say it was worth waiting for. The pasta and meat sauce was excellent; as good as anything I could get back home. I saved some of the garlic bread for the meal and enjoyed it along with another beer. If my pasta dish was anything to go by, I would love to try some other dishes on their menu.
Prices
What can I say, this is not a place to go if you want to eat on the cheap. With a bottle of water, two beers, appetizer, and the main entree my cost was at 660 THB or 19 USD. It’s not the type of money I’d like to spend at every meal, but I’ll definitely return for a splurge.
Summary
The Kitchen Pattaya is a great restaurant with excellent food. Although the service was a little slow this evening the wait staff did an excellent job of keeping me informed and trying to make the best of things. The prices are closer to a Western meal than the other cheap eats you can get in Pattaya, but in my opinion it is well worth it for a fantastic meal, whether you want to treat yourself or travel on a big budget.
