Patrick’s Steakhouse (Soi Diana)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Patrick’s Steakhouse located on Soi Diana. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the food here over the years and I was happy to get an invite from some friends so I could finally check it out for myself.

Patrick’s is located in the small walk through arcade area just off Soi Diana. It has an indoor restaurant and outdoor terrace. The weather during our visit was just perfect so we had a seat in the outdoor area.

The menu consists of steaks, seafood, fondue, and several specials offered throughout the week. There are also some Belgian specials on offer if that is something you fancy.

Steaks

My focus was clearly on the steaks. Patrick’s offers a selection of beef from New Zealand, Austrailia, and Thailand. The New Zealand steaks seem to be the most popular with a good combination of taste and price.

I opted for the bacon wrapped NZ Filet Mignon. Each steak comes with your choice of potato and sauce served on the side. I chose the mashed potatoes with a pepper cream sauce.

The steak was cooked medium as I requested and tasted delicious. Adding a sauce is not something we do back home, and I must say I loved the peppercorn sauce. I added a little to my steak and a lot to my mashed potatoes. The meal was delicious.

The rest of my group chose the same steak, but with the blue cheese sauce which they just loved. Something I will try the next time. Everyone was thrilled with their meal.

Desserts

Patrick’s Steakhouse has a nice selection of desserts that will tempt anyone’s sweet tooth. Ice cream, Belgium waffles, pomme frites, and my choice the crepe suzette. I wish I had gotten a picture of my dessert because it looked as good as it tasted, and it tasted amazing. But I was too busy shoveling it in my face to take time out for a photo.

Beer

While there is a complete selection of your local favorite beers on hand (San Miguel, Chang, Singha), you can also try one of the Belgium beers on offer. They have a selection of eight or so beers from the home country that you can enjoy if you don’t mind forking over the cash for the imports. Take a look at the selection here.

Patrick’s Steakhouse is one of the best places to get a steak in Pattaya. It is located directly across the walkway from its main steak competitor, the Beefeater. I’d recommend Patrick’s to anyone visiting Pattaya looking for a good meal. While not cheap, I thought it was well worth the price.

Patrick’s Belgium Restaurant

As an aside, I wanted to mention that this restaurant is most often called Patrick’s Belgian Restaurant. This caused me a bit of confusion at first as nowhere on the signage does it say that. So if you are looking for Patrick’s Belgian restaurant and you stumble across Patrick’s Steakhouse and Fondue restaurant, you are in the right place.
