Plane coming through Royal Garden Mall at Ripley's Pattaya, Thailand

Ripley’s Believe It or Not In Pattaya

If you have ever thought about spending your holiday looking at shrunken heads, three-legged horses, and a wide collection of oddities, then Ripley’s Believe It or Not might be for you.  Even if you don’t have an overly worrying interest in the Macabre, Ripley’s is a fun an interesting way to spend some time.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not is one of seven Ripley’s attractions located on the top floor of the Royal Garden Mall in Pattaya.  Thanks to the popularity of the TV show which first aired in 1949 and was reimagined several times in the following decades, Ripley’s Believe It or Not is well known all over the world.

You can buy a ticket for just the Believe It or Not attraction, but as the tour only takes about 30 – 40 minutes, you might want to look at bundling it with one or more and save a few Baht and making a couple hours of your visit.

Once you pay the fee and get your bracelet punched it is time to enter.  You’ll head upstairs and the first thing that you’ll find is the front side of an airplane sticking through the wall. If you’ve ever walked by the Royal Garden Mall on Second Road you’ve seen the tail end of the aircraft that looked like it had crashed into the mall.

This is a self-guided tour that winds you through hallways and staircases that open up to various collections of oddities.  It is a strange and varied collection of weird items.  From a life-sized statue of the world’s tallest man to a two-headed calf to an entire collection shark attacks.

In addition to the strange and grotesque, you’ll see a car made of wood.

And a collection of Medieval torture devices.  Ok, those are grotesque too.

On the way out, is a mind shifting tunnel that tries to play tricks with your equilibrium.  It does a pretty good job at it too.

While most of the exhibits are replicas and not the real deal, Ripley’s Believe It or Not is a fun way to spend part of an hour.  The displays are entertaining and give you a glimpse into the strange world that we all live in.

Consider combing your visit to Ripley’s Believe It or Not with a visit to Louis Tussaud’s Wax museum or the Infinity Maze.
